2022/07/04 - Fairways Debt - Upload Document from a URL

You are used to upload files on transactions in the Debt & Derivatives application.

You can now specify a URL redirecting to a file or a folder on an external storage, such as a Microsoft SharePoint site.

This feature allows you to:

  • Provide secure access to your online resources through an HTTPS connection
  • Reduce the volume of uploaded documents and consequently limit operational risk by avoiding storing multiple copies of the same file
  • Ensure availability of the latest document version

In the same way as for uploaded files, the links are stored into the Documents application and they can also be uploaded or updated using API.

If an event notification for document upload is set in your settings, you will be notified each time a new document is uploaded  from a URL. The notification email will include the link to provide you with a direct access to the file or the folder on your online resources.

An external link can be provided when uploading documents not only on the portfolio’s transactions but also on the following account administration settings:

  • Entities
  • Contacts
  • Assets
  • Third Parties

To upload a document from an external link on a transaction (navigate to Applications Applications.png > Debt & Derivatives > Portfolio):

  1. Click the Documents icon.
  2. Click Upload from external link.
  3. Specify the relevant details on the popup window and click Apply.

Note: Fields marked with an asterisk * are mandatory.
