Create a Custom Index

In Fairways Debt, you can create custom indexes, enabling you to manually enter specific fixing values.

Notes:

  • Custom indexes cannot be deleted only disabled.
  • Only administrators can manage shared custom indexes. Account administrators can manage global and local indexes at account and organization levels, whereas organization administrators can only manage local indexes at organization level.

 

Navigate to the Account Administration
  1. Log in to your Fairways Debt account.
  2. Select a customer account.
  3. Click Applications Applications.png > Account Administration.
Create a Custom Index
  1. Navigate to:
    1. Administration > Organization Settings to create a local custom index.
    2. Account > Account Configuration to create a global custom index.

  1. Click Add Shared Index.

  1. Complete the form with all relevant details.

Note: Fields marked with an asterisk * are mandatory.

Field Description
Code

Unique code identifying the custom index.

Note: Once the index is created, the code cannot be edited.
Name Index name, displays in the application. 
Fixing Frequency Index fixing frequency.
Forward Mode

How the forward is calculated:

  1. Last Known Value: After the last known fixing, the interest rate is the last known value and is calculated like a fixed interest rate.
  2. Forward Curve + Spread: After the last known fixing, the interest rate is the estimated value of another quoted market index, plus a spread and is calculated like a floating interest rate.

Note: Additional fields display depending on the selection.
Index

Index used to calculate the interest rate for the Forward Curve + Spread mode.
Estimated Spread Spread used to calculate the interest rate for the Forward Curve + Spread mode.
  1. Click Apply to create the index.

Add a Fixing to the Index
  1. Click:
    • Add Fixing to add a single fixing.
    • Import Excel to add multiple fixings.

  1. Complete the form with all relevant details.

Note: Fields marked with an asterisk * are mandatory.

Field Description
Fixing Date

Fixing date.

Note: Transactions starting before the first fixing date are invalid.
Fixing Value Value at the selected fixing date.
  1. Click Apply or upload the completed file to add the fixing(s).

Enable the Index

Click Enable > Confirm to make the index visible and available for use.

The index is available in the Indexation panel.
