Create a Custom Indicator

Custom indicators in Fairways Debt calculate the value of specific attributes on a defined date. You can use these indicators in spot reports.

Note: Only administrators can manage custom indicators.

 

Navigate to the Account Administration
  1. Log in to your Fairways Debt account and select a customer account, if relevant.
  2. Navigate to Applications Applications.png > Account Administration.

 

Create a Custom Indicator
  1. Navigate to Account > Account Configuration > Custom Indicators.
  2. Click Add Custom Indicator.

  1. Complete the form with all relevant details.

Note: Fields marked with an asterisk * are mandatory.

Description

Code

Indicator code.

Note: Once the indicator is created, the code cannot be edited.

Name

Indicator name displaying in the application.

Definition

What to calculate.

Formula

Defines the calculation date.

 

Write a Custom Indicator Formula

A custom indicator formula includes:

  • A reference date
  • An operator
  • A number
  • A time unit
 

Value

Description

Reference Date 

D

The current day.

M1

The first day of the current month, e.g. 1 January, 1 February, etc.

Y1

The first day of the current year, i.e. 1 January.

Operator

+

Increments

-

Decrements

Time Unit

D

Day (1-99999)

M

Month (1-999)

Y

Year (1-99)

Notes:

  • If you enter no value for the reference date, the current day is used by default.
  • You can add multiple operators in the formula.

Currency

Currency in which the data displays:

  1. Base: The data displays in the currency initially applied to the transactions.
  2. Report: The data displays in the currency applied to the report.
  1. Click Apply to create the indicator.

Test a Custom Indicator

Before applying the indicator to the reports, you can verify if the formula works as expected.

  1. Click Test to open the relevant indicator details.

In this example, we want to test if M1-3M+14D will display the data requested on the 15th of the 3rd month preceding the reporting date.

  1. Select a reference date.
  2. Click Test.

In this example, if the reporting date is 2 February 2021, M1-3M+14D equals to 15 November 2020:

M1 - 3M + 14D

= 1 February 2021 - 3M + 14D

= 1 November 2020 + 14D

= 15 November 2020

 

Add the Custom Indicator to the Spot Report

Create a spot report adding the custom indicator, and generate the report.
